If your water treatment requirements require high quality water
with a minimum of chemical manipulation then a Reverse Osmosis filtering system may be just what you
need for clean, healthy drinking water, in some of the harshest of conditions.
Reverse Osmosis is a process for removing dissolved mineral
salts, organic molecules and many other impurities by forcing water under
pressure to pass through a multi process filtration system with semi-permeable membranes.
Since Reverse Osmosis does not occur naturally, it must be
created by applying pressure to the water in order to force it
through the membrane to remove the solids from the water. With pressures from 200 to 400 psig in most applications or even
up to 1,200 psig for sea water desalination and high solids conditions.
We offer Above Counter, Below Counter, Whole

| THUNDER 1000C RO WATER FILTER
SYSTEM |
|
  |
Water travels through 12 stages of filtration:
|
Stage/s |
|
|
|
1 |
|
Water
travels through a 5 micron solid carbon cartridge for removing volatile organic
carbon compounds (VOC's), insecticides, pesticides and industrial solvents and traps particles
larger than 5 micron including sediment, silt, sand and dirt. It also helps to
extend the life of the system. |
|
2 |
|
Water passes
through
a .01 micron Ultrafiltration (UF) membrane.
Ultrafiltration (UF) is an important
purification technology used for the production of
high-purity water. UF is effective for the
removal of colloids, proteins, bacteria, viruses, parasites, protozoa and
pyrogens (e.g., gram-negative bacterial endotoxins),
other organic molecules larger than .01 micron, and most other water
contaminants known today.
. |
|
3 |
|
Water
flows through pre one - micron filter pads (1 micron equals 1/25,000th of an
inch), which removes suspended particles such as silt, sediment, cyst (Giardia,
Cryptosporidium), sand, rust, dirt, and other undissolved matter. |
|
4 |
|
Water passes
through granulated activated carbon (GAC). GAC is universally recognized and
widely used as an effective adsorbent for a wide variety of organic
contaminants, such as
chlorine (99.9%), chemicals linked to cancer (THM's, benzine) pesticides,
herbicides, insecticides, volatile organic compounds (VOC's), PCB's,
MTBE's and hundreds of other chemical contaminants that may be present in water,
bad taste, and odors from your drinking water.
. |
|
5 |
|
Water
flows through the ion exchange resin, reducing heavy metals such as lead,
copper, aluminum, and water hardness. |
|
6 & 7 |
|
Water flows through 2 beds of Redox (Oxidation/reduction process) media
made of a special high-purity alloy blend of two dissimilar metals - copper and
zinc.
Representing
a new and unique way of water processing medium which by its natural process of
electrochemical oxidation/reduction and adsorption action reduces and/or removes
many unwanted contaminants from water.
It is a major advancement in water treatment technology that works on the
electro-chemical and spontaneous-oxidation-reduction (REDOX) principles.
Chlorine is instantaneously and almost inexhaustibly oxidized. Iron and hydrogen sulfide are
oxidized into insoluble matter and attach to the surface of the media. Heavy
metals such as lead, mercury, copper, nickel, chromium, cadmium, aluminum, and
other dissolved metals are removed from the water by the natural process of
electrochemical process. They are attracted to the surface of the media, much
like a magnet. The media inhibits bacterial growth throughout the entire unit.
. |
|
8 |
|
Water
flows through another one-micron filtration pad for further reduction of
undesirable particles. The end result is a great reduction or
elimination
of a wide variety of contaminants. |
|
9 |
|
Water passes through a CRYSTAL
QUEST® reverse osmosis membrane, which removes and filters particles as
small as 1/1000 of a micron as most inorganic chemicals (such as salts, metals,
minerals) most microorganisms including cryptosporidium and giardia, and most
inorganic contaminants.
. |
|
10 & 12 |

Water
flows through the ion exchange resin, reducing heavy metals such as lead,
copper, aluminum, and water hardness. |

|
Iron and hydrogen sulfide are oxidized into insoluble matter and attach to the
surface of the media. Heavy metals such as lead, mercury, copper, nickel,
chromium, cadmium, aluminum, and other dissolved metals are removed from the
water by the natural process of electrochemical process. They are attracted to
the surface of the media, much like a magnet. The media inhibits bacterial
growth throughout the entire unit.

It is a major advancement in water treatment technology that works on the
electro-chemical and spontaneous-oxidation-reduction (REDOX) principles.
Chlorine is instantaneously and almost inexhaustibly oxidized.
Iron and hydrogen sulfide are oxidized into insoluble matter and attach to the
surface of the media. Heavy metals such as lead, mercury, copper, nickel,
chromium, cadmium, aluminum, and

High Performance Filtration Stages...
Stage 1 -
Pre-Filtration. The incoming water is filtered through a
sediment/activated carbon block filter to remove silt and sediment as well as to
protect the membrane from any chlorine that may be present.
Stage 2 -
Reverse Osmosis. this is the heart of the system. Most particles too small
to be trapped by the Pre-filter are removed by the T.F.C. membrane, reducing
unwanted contaminants from the water stream.
Stage 3 -
Polishing Filter. With 42 cubic inches of granular activated carbon, this
final filter reduces unwanted tastes and odors and adds the final "polish" to
your filtered water.
State-Of-The-Art Features...
Patented Design: Exclusive manifold plate
with patented channel design reduces tubing connections and simplifies
installation.
Compact System: Space-saving design is
ideal for under-sink installations and uses a minimum of space.
High Capacity Tank: Holds approximately 2
gallons of water without taking up a lot of space.

Spectra's LB-400 series can provide 400 gallons per day and the
LB-800 can provide 800 gallons per
day of fresh, clean and healthy water from salt or brackish water.
Want to build on a beach or bay front home with
no water? No problem! Drilled a well on a site that came up brackish or salt
water? No problem! The Spectra LB 400 or LB 800 RO Water Filtering System is the solution.
The LB-400
is simple to use, easy to install, quiet, very energy efficient and it delivers
16 gallons (60 liters) of fresh water per hour. Its ideal for use in dwellings
on beaches and bays where salt water or brackish water is available.
The system
uses a special version of the exclusive
High Pressure Intensifier that has been proven for over
ten years in thousands of land based and marine applications. The Spectra Clark
Pump, unlike conventional systems, is a hydraulic pressure intensifier that
derives its motive force for making water from a low pressure feed water source.
The LB-400 / LB-800 utilizes a well pump to deliver the feed water
and provide the power to desalinate water. Just one pump and motor in the well
feeding the Spectra Clark Pump membrane module does the entire job. This makes
for the simplest land based desalination system on the planet.
